michela was kind enough to send me a copy of her book a little while ago, and it's taken me longer than it should have done to write about it here. i've been a big fan of michela's dreamy photographs for years and i'm so pleased she decided to put them together in such a beautiful way.

anteroom is a collection of michela's photographs taken over ten years, between 2002 and 2012. each  is as strange and beautiful as the last, it's so thoughtfully put together. my favourites of her photos tend to be the portraits, it's very rare that she shows the face of her subject, which has the effect of being personal and yet impersonal at the same time. i always feel as if i'm looking into another world when i look at michela's photographs, and it's wonderful to be able to visit that world through a real, physical, book, rather than a computer screen. the book itself is beautifully printed on matte paper (it smells amazing!),  in an edition of 200, each one signed by the artist, and you can buy it here or here

michela gave an interview to dazed digital about her book, which you can see here, it's an interesting read and so great that she is being recognised for her talent.
